Featured Photog: Attila Soós
Attila (Pinto Horse) is one of the guys I met on Flickr, and one who I would really like to know in real life. Probably could show me a thing or two, but then, he is a real pro. His work amazes me in the way everything looks good, whether he shows some pretty ladies or some guy in a phone booth. He still uses film - sometimes - which gets another plus point in my book. When he does digital, a 20D...

A little test: Using pictures from private Tumblr...
I have a private Tumblr blog that I may use to upload pictures from different sources. Using these will only work from HTML-links within a Tumblr text. Here comes one:
Ok, this works! Neat, I become a real Tumblr fan.

Importing Flickr-sized pictures
Tumblr resizes the picture size in some styles; just search for Photo-URL and replace -400 to -500, the you can post your Flickr(tm) optimized pictures. Flickr works best with pictures that have a width of 500 pixels.
I hope that I will not find a better style for Tumblr, the work that goes into this customizing is too much.

Let me say this: Tumblr is great. I just discovered that it actually imports posts from my Flickr account, that you can email new posts.
It’s not 1984 any more…

Another example of a photographer who somehow manages just that amount of post processing that looks as if there was no post processing at all. Damn it, how do these people know when to stop?
Strange people, those Christians
Saddlebacking: sad•dle•back•ing \ˈsa-dəl-ˈba-kiŋ\ vb [fr. Saddleback Church] (2009): the phenomenon of Christian teens engaging in unprotected anal sex in order to preserve their virginities
After attending the Purity Ball, Heather and Bill saddlebacked all night because she’s saving herself for marriage.

What works on Flickr
Flickr has its good and bad sides. Good is convenience, I can upload all kind of pics and link to them. Bad, everyone does so, and there are millions of pictures where, aesthetically, all hope is lost.
You may like to browse Flickr for the good stuff, but there is tons of garbage until you get to it.
The other bad side of Flickr is personal: If you want to get noticed and promote your work as...
Antonio Manzone
Antonio Manzone - Photografika Studio
I found his work on Flickr, the link above goes to the professional site. He does a natural style of beauty photography that works without “in your face” digital manipulation.
How To Use Slow Sync Flash
13 Great Examples of Slow Sync Flash Images
Incredible stuff… and within the reach of almost every photographer, as even point and shoots have slow sync these days.
Ryan Brenizer
I used to think that wedding photography is boring (That’s because I didn’t know shit about it. A good explanation almost every time I find any subject boring).
Then I discovered that people now do weddings like they used to do photo journalism - with happier people than in war photography, but nevertheless.
Ryan Brenizer’s Amazon Blog shows some of the ideas and approaches of...

I travel to our customers. Can’t be trusted with the car on my own, I guess, so most of the time, at least one collegue is with me. This is Andreas:

A Photo Contributor
APhotoContributor is the place where Chris Weeks and some other “homeless” photographers blog after the fall of Uber. I like his style.

Strobist
Strobist is one of the most useful resources on the web for using the flash off camera. Highly addictive.
This was my try at smoke, lighted with remote SB-600.
I see that inserting a picture will not give me a link to Flickr. Have to think about what is best… Hmm…
Can I share a photo here?
Oh neat, that works.
Flickr kills pictures that are bigger than 500 pixels on the longest side. By sharpening the hell out of them.
On the other hand, 500 pixels is not too versatile for picture grabbers.
And it fits into this blog.
I am new here...
Computer scientist with camera, I blog here what I find inspirational about photography and related arts.
Will even share my thoughts, sometimes.
With some caution, as my blog on Uber went as Uber went. Hope tumblr will do better.
Welcome, reader.
